Who We Are. Who We Are Not

Eye See You Brother is a group of black men and black women who quietly choose to acknowledge one another to say I see you.  I understand your journey. I understand your trials and tribulations and know what you went through to get where your are today.  Eye See You.  I respect you, and I wish you well on your journey.

We are not a political group, a racist group, or a group with a hidden agenda.  We are merely black people acknowledging one another and giving much respect for one another.

It does not matter if you are married to a White person, a Latino, an Indian, or a Jewish person... what matters is that as a black man or a black woman, we acknowledge one another... we reach out and respect one another.

Black People are Everywhere?

When Russia attacked the Ukraine, we learned that there were black men and black women living and studying in the Ukraine. In Russia, it is estimated that 30,000 Afro-Russians are living there. In India, Africans arrived as early as the 4th century. Some became rulers, reigning over parts of India. They came to be known as the Siddis or Habshisthere, which is why there are dark-skinned Indians. Blacks are in Italy, Sweden, Australia, Germany, Denmark and Scotland.

Did you know that Yasuke was the first black Samurai in Japan during Japan's Sengoku period?  Black people are every where.

Sadly Though...

According to the Implicite Association Test (IAT), many black Americans have a strong automatic preference for european Americans.

That's a sterile way of saying that blacks in America, are biased against their own people. For most people, that information would be unsettling. After all, the United States is a nation that aspires not to judge others 'by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character'.

We interviewed black Africans from various countries in their homeland and learned that many were disappointed that black Americans do not respect or extend love to their families.

In Africa, the family not only consits of  mother, father, brothers and sisters, but grand parents, aunts, uncles, and extends to the community as well.

We at Eye See You Brother, want to change the way our American brothers and sisters interact with one another by starting with respect. Acknowledgement. Kindness. Let's make the change.
